This Day in History - Aug 8th Starring - Richard Nixon

Richard Milhouse Nixon, the first American President to resign from office, gained national attention as a Communist headhunter on the House Un-American Activities Committee. In 1952, Dwight Eisenhower kept him as his running mate in spite of allegations that Nixon misused campaign funds. In 1960, Nixon narrowly lost the Presidency to John Kennedy but came back to win in 1968. He was re-elected by a landslide in 1972 before the Watergate scandal forced his resignation.
