1月6日:飞翔的芬兰金星(视频)

This Day In History - January 6, 1925 - Paavo Nurmi breaks 2 World Records.
The United States won the team championship in the 1924 Olympics in Paris, but for the most part, attention focused on "The Flying Finn," Paavo Nurmi. The Finnish long distance runner won four gold medals for races ranging between 1,500 and 10,000 meters. At the age of 27, Nurmi set two world records including the indoor mile, which he finished with a leisurely walk in his first U.S. appearance, on January 6, 1925. Weeks later, he established five more.
"How lonesome I felt in my youth", he wrote, "while I was ordered to walk to church each Sunday by my father, while other boys had a chance to play to their hearts' content. All my spare time was used in walking through the woods and running".
