大学博物馆 仅仅是华丽的点缀吗？
世界各地的大学博物馆都很受欢迎。它们被认为是传播人类美好的精神食粮的场所。但是调查发现，这些博物馆并不是所有人都能进入的。因此，这些博物馆的存在是否真的起到作用，引起了人们的质疑。
College museums are popular amongst the public in many countries around the world. They are considered to be cultural places of interest representing the noble spirit of human endeavor.
But according to an article in the China Youth Daily, these exhibition institutions in Chinese universities are in an awkward situation. The newspaper cite Yun'nan University, based in the country's southwest Kunming city. It opened its first college museum to the public, free of charge.
Professor Lin Chaomin, from the university, is quoted as saying the public universities are established with funds from taxpayers.
He says it is bearing the responsibility of spreading knowledge to society. But the professor adds that regrettably, people have very little access to most college museums in China at present.
The article echoes Lin Chaomin's sentiments, saying a number of reasons have attributed to the present situation.
It says lack of funding is the primary aspect. For example, the newly-opened Yun'nan University museum only receives annual financial aid of 40,000 Yuan, or 5,700 U.S. dollars.
The curator of the museum complains that the money merely covers daily expenditure, and they are not able to introduce new exhibits.
Some suggest more supportive policies are urgently needed, includnig increased financial support, personnel training and inter-university exchanges.
