Leaders of Zimbabwe's main opposition party, the MDC, are meeting to decide whether to join a power-sharing government with the ZANU-PF party of President Robert Mugabe. On Monday, southern African leaders said agreement had been reached on forming an inclusive government by February 13. A joint committee to monitor the power-sharing deal has been set up as agreed on Monday. But the BBC correspondent in southern Africa says joining the government requires a leap of faith by the MDC and the party doesn't trust Mr Mugabe.
The number of cholera cases in Zimbabwe has passed 60,000, a level previously described by the World Health Organisation as the "worst-case scenario". It said there had been nearly 1,500 new cases in one day. Imogen Foulkes reports from Geneva.
A WHO spokeswoman said the epidemic was out of control and would likely remain so for the near future. Zimbabwe's rainy season is helping to spread the disease. Meanwhile, health, water, and sanitation services remain in a state of collapse. The United Nations, which is now trying to feed five and a half million people in Zimbabwe, regards the humanitarian situation as acute and getting worse.
