The Lebanese government has condemned for the firing from southern Lebanon of four rockets into northern Israel which slightly injured two people. A government minister is quoted as saying "Hezbollah had denied responsibility for the attack". From Bayrut, Natalia Antelava reports.
The Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Seniora has condemned the rocket attack on northern Israel and called for the army and the United Nations to investigate the incident. Four rockets were fired into northern Israel from Lebanon earlier on Thursday morning. And Israel has retaliated with artillery fire. No one in Lebanon has claimed responsibility for the attack. It comes only a day after the leader of the Shiite militant group Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, stepped up his anti-Israeli rhetoric.
The rocket attacks from Lebanon came after one of the most intense lights of Israeli military activity in Gaza. There were 60 air strikes on targets, including tunnels near the Egyptian border.
