(katie and mark are sitting outside.)

mark: you paid for dan’s purchases with your credit card?

katie: well, none of his cards worked. and the lady was mad.

mark: so? dan didn’t need to buy any of that stuff.

katie: I felt bad for dan.

mark: you felt bad for mr rich boy?

(dan comes over.)

dan: are you two talking about me? that’s ok. I am used to it .
