July 15th,2000,an Air France Concorde bound for New York crashes shortly after takeoff outside Paris. All 109 people on board the supersonic airliner are killed along four people on the ground. Christopher Korenke is vice president of Air France USA "for the moment the fleet will be grounded.Sorry,well,still five remaining sensors will be rounded ", just years later the Concorde is grounded for good because passenger numbers fail to rebound after the crash.
1956 one of the world’s most famous maritime disasters takes place off the New England coast. The Italian liner Andrea Doria collides with the Swedish ship Stockholm claiming 51 lives. Most on board the Andrea Doria survive. They are evacuated before the liner capsizes and sinks the next morning.
1995 an UN Tribunal indicts Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and General Ratko Mladic for genocide and other war crimes in the Balkans. Both men remain at large.
